Chelsey was pulling out boxes from the storage closet in their apartment for the tree that Aiden had brought home earlier that week. She didn't care that Christmas wasn't for another week and a half. She had a box in her arms and two larger ones followed behind her. She looked around the living room for Ben and saw him crawling towards her on the floor in his blue and white footie pajamas. She smiled and shook her head with a soft laugh, "Ben..." She set the box down and picked up her son. "What are you doing?" He was smiling and started to pull at the silver chain that held her engagement ring. He found the ring and started to chew on it. She looked at him, "No...not a chew toy." She pulled it from his mouth and tucked under her black shirt.
Chelsey set him down and he shakily pulled himself on her leg, clutching her jeans tightly. "Now you're going to hurt yourself..." She couldn't help but smile at her son who was trying to imitate his parents and aunt who walked around him everyday. "Dad should be home in a few minutes." She smiled and picked her leg up and set it down gently, making sure he didn't fall.
He looked up and pointed to the door. "Bawha." She could only guess that he meant Aiden wasn't too far away.

Lelia came bouncing out of her bedroom with Rudi at her heels, tail wagging. Her long red hair was pulled into a ponytail and she wore blue jeans and a purple sweater with just a pair of bright yellow socks. Rudi had a red collar around his neck and a green elf hat with a bell on the end attached to his head.
Aiden would be in soon and Lelia found herself running over to the apartment door, pressing her ear to it to see if she could hear him coming. She sighed and sat down on the couch, half watching cartoons and half watching Chels and Ben. Rudi followed her over to the couch, his eyes turning to the door as he let out a funny sounding whine, waiting for Aiden as well. He lay on the floor by Lelia's feet with his head on his paws.

Aiden walked down the hall after having reported to Eryk. He had been on a mission that day and just couldn't wait to get home to his family. He was wearing dark jeans and a pair of black snow boots with a long-sleeved, dark blue t-shirt. There was snow in his hair which he made sure to shake out before opening the door to the apartment.
He came through the apartment door and smiled. "Hey!" he said, Rudi jumping up and running over to sniff his feet. He pulled off his wet boots and made his way to Chels and Ben, taking his son and holding him in the air, making a face at him and then kissing him on the forehead. He chuckled and held Ben in one arm and leaning in to kiss Chels. "Hey babe," he said, smiling at her. He looked over at Lelia and smiled. "You shouldn't watch TV kiddo. You'll melt your brain." He turned back to Chels and cocked a brow. "What's going on?"

Chelsey smiled and gave him a kiss back. "Oh, we're just getting ready to decorate the tree. Aren't we Ben?" She looked at her son who started to smile and laugh. She looked from Lelia to Aiden, "Really, I don't think that watching tv melts your brain." She smiled mischievously, "Since you still have a brain hun." She reached over and gently coaxed her son from his arms and kissed him again. Her lips were near his ear, "You know I love you." She set Ben down and he grabbed for Aiden's pants to hang onto. He let go and sat down, shocked that the pants were wet.
Chelsey smiled even though Rudi was nearby and he smelt to her, but she was getting used to the smell. "Hey Rudi," She bent over and scratched behind the dog's ears. "Do you want to change before we get started?" She smiled and leaned on his shoulder slightly.

"I love you too hun," Aiden said, smiling at her. He looked down at Ben as he grabbed onto his pants and just laughed. "Yeah, I'll be right back..." He was gone suddenly, a blur as he ran to the bedroom. It took him just a moment to change into a pair of blue plaid pj pants and a gray t-shirt. Just a moment later, he was out again, sweeping Chels off her feet and kissing her a few times, first on the cheeks, then on the lips. "I missed you today." He smiled and then looked around on the floor for Ben to make sure he didn't get himself into trouble. With Aiden's luck, the kid would try and eat a nickel or something. "Hey Lel, you have any homework?" he asked her, setting Chels down.

Lelia looked up as Aiden came in, smiling. She gave him a look, her brows knitting together as he said her brain would melt. Her eyes darted to Chels for reassurance and she relaxed. "I finished my homework..." she said to Aiden, smiling. "Did it when I came home." Rudi's head tilted to the side in happiness as Chels scratched him behind the ears and he made a gruff noise, licking his chops. He sat and watched as Ben crawled around. Even though he was only a dog, he was one of those dogs that watched and made sure the baby didn't get into trouble. He had grown use to Ben in the months since he had been born without a single problem.

Chels laughed as Aiden came back and swept her off her feet - literally. She kissed him back deeply as he finally kissed her lips. When she was on her own two feet again she looked at Aiden and backed Lelia up. "She did her homework right away when she got home. I saw her, she didn't even try to feed it to the dog." She looked down to see Ben crawling towards the base of the tree. "Apparently Ben wants us to get started." She laughed and took Aidens hands only to wrap them around herself as she stood right in front of him. "Demanding little one...wonder where he got that from." She laughed and slipped from his grasp going to the first box and opening it. It had majority of the tree decor.

Aiden chuckled as Chels backed up Lelia. "Alright, alright," he said, kissing Chelsey's neck. "I believe you guys." His gray eyes wandered to Ben and he laughed. He made his way over to Chels and the box and pulled out the lights for the tree. He started to untangle them and sighed, sitting beside Lelia.

Lelia gave Aiden one of those Haha, I told you so smiles and watched as Aiden untangled the lights. She got off the couch and went over to sit on the floor by Chelsey and the box, poking through it a bit. Rudi trotted over and stuffed his face in the box for a moment before he laid down beside Lelia. She frowned and sighed, something someone said in school bothering her.

Chelsey had knelt on the floor in front of the box and started to dig out the ornaments that they had for the tree. She smiled to Lelia as she sat down on the floor next to her. She looked up at Aiden and shook her head, "That's why you wrap them around some cardboard, or something along those lines. They don't tangle even close to that bad." She heard Lelia sigh and sat back on her legs, "What's wrong Lel?" She watched as Ben started crawling over toward her, but side tracked and crawled into Lelia's lap instead. He looked up at her and gave her a smile.

Lelia sighed again and then smiled sadly as Ben crawled into her lap. She held him steady and looked over at Chels. "Some boy in school told me that Santa Clause wasn't real," she said, frowning. She may have been a smart child, but she was just like the others when it came to putting hope in a big fat man in a red suit. "He said Santa was just a marketing plot for toy stores to ge money or something like that and that Santa Clause is just our fathers dressing up in a red suit and sticking a pillow in their shirt..." She had been angry at the boy for saying that as she didn't have a father really to which he told her that everyone has a father and she must be a freak if she doesn't have one.

"Don't believe him, he doesn't know any better." Chelsey smiled and gave her a hug, sensing that something else the boy had said was also bothering her. She hated to do it, but went through the memory of the incident at school. "Lel, not everyone has a father." She looked down at her, "I had foster parents, I never knew my real ones. I think the boy is just trying to get to you anyways. Since I know that there is a Santa Clause and he's several hundred years old." She smiled wider, "He used to just help little girls in need, but then he started to help the little boys. Eventually moving up to the North Pole where he found the flying reindeer. He built a sleigh and decided to visit only once a year to all the good girls and boys." She leaned down and whispered, "He's much nicer to the girls than the boys, that's why the boy in school doesn't believe in him."
She sat back and looked at Lel and Ben, "Don't fret over what he said. If you believe that's really all that matters to anyone. Besides it takes more than a red suit and a pillow to imitate Santa, especially for your brother over there." She winked at Aiden and couldn't help but laugh slightly.

Aiden grunted in response to what Chels said and continued to untangle the lights. "Yes, but that would just be too easy," he said, finally getting them untangled. "I like a good challenge". He started to put the lights around the tree and poked his head around as Lelia said some boy had told her Santa wasn't real. "What?!" he said, getting kinda mad and siding with Chels. "Don't listen to him Lel. He's probably just a little mama's boy with his head up his ass. He's just trying to ruin the joy of Christmas. Where does he live? Boy I oughta-" He shook his head, mumbling as he put the lights around the tree.

Lelia nodded to what Chelsey told her and hugged her back, feeling better as she told her this. "Ok," she said, looking over at Aiden then as he asked her where the boy lived. She giggled slightly at he brother a little and Rudi looked up at Aiden, cocking his head to the side. Lelia was not usually bothered by not having a father as she had never really known their father. But what the boy said still ticked her off. But of course, she would listen to Chelsey's advice.

"Aiden...there are young ones around and if the first word our sons says isn't a nice word I'm blaming you." Chels looked at him sternly for a few seconds before shaking her head. She knows that he means well and couldn't help but laugh. "Okay, you can't tell me that you didn't tease the girls when you were in school." She smiled and looked at Lel, "What do you want to put on the tree first, after your brother is done with the lights?" She had the boxes of ornaments out and the garland next to it. She had left the tree topper in the box, not sure if they wanted an angel or a star this year.
