It was just before dawn, still dark till a small portion of light filtered over the eastern horizen. "Really...it's dawn already?" It was Easter Sunday and Angelynn Black decided to spend it in the graveyard among the dead. It was one of the few holidays that she ran away from people to find peace, or just pass the day. She had only ever been running from family before, never friends.
Angel sat atop one of the weeping angels that served as a grave marker. The face was worn off as it stared down at its feet where some important person lay. Her blue lips frowned as she looked about, "Among the dead? Really? You would think the woods would have much more company as the animals don't know what day it is..." A shudder ran down her spine...
Tears rolled down Angel's face as her wings enclosed her and she rubbed them, remembering the pain very vividly as she went through it every year till she was twelve.
Then came a bark and she froze with tears still rolling down her cheek. She looked down at the base of the statue slowly and saw a very large black dog of some sort. She pulled her blue and silver cloak up about her, covering her jeans and tank top that she wore. She couldn't do anything as she froze in fear with the dog barking up at her, growling...She gulped..."Help!" It came out very softly and seemed to enrage the dog even more as it now started to jump up at her.

Angel was five and wearing a very expensive white dress that her grandmother had bought her, she was sitting on her father's lap with make-up covering up the blue that was natural on her face. Her wings were pinned under the dress, causing her pain. "Mommy please...they hurt!"
Her mother had put a strap on so that she couldn't move them under the material or cause a rip. "Angelynn no! Grandma will be very mad if you rip that dress!" Her mother hissed back a lie, they never told her grandmother that she had wings. "You're just a selfish child!" Another hiss came from her mother. Angel turned and ran.
She found the spare clothes that she had brought with and hid up in the attic leaving the dress on a bed somewhere in the large house. Angel cried as she removed the straps that had cut into her wings, there was feathers attached to them with blood. The make-up ran, not that she cared as she started to rub it off. She curled up with her wings around her in a corner of the attic. She heard them calling for her till she guessed her mother found the dress. "That dirty little wrench!"
"Cathrine! That's you're daughter, not just some common street trash." It was Angel's grandmother. They must have been right below her.
"The way she acts, she thinks she is miss high and mighty of the world! Besides mother, she told me she hated your dress you bought her." Angel cried even harder, she loved the dress, all the lace and frills, it was a spring dress for her.
"You lie!" There were softer words spoken before someone stormed off and laughter could be heard. Angel cried harder and refused to move from the corner even after her parents and little sister left. Suddenly someone was shaking her and calling her name. "Angel dear...your parents left, come down now and eat..." Her grandmother's face scared her as it showed shock, anger, and sadness.
"Grammy I really did love your dress!" She shot up and gave her a hug, forgetting that her grandmother didn't know she had wings as they unfolded in front of her and fluttered behind her lightly still bleeding. She heard a gasp and mutterring as she was led out of the attic by her grandmother.
She was turned back over to her parents the next day without any words said and a very defiant look on her face.
