Pulling up to his mother's shop, the dirt from the parking lot kicked up around Max's black dodge pick up truck. He had the carseat next to him with Jazzlyn strapped in. Just a few days ago him and his wife, Ali had gotten into a fight and she left the apartment with Mikey. So Max went on, thinking about her often, and not knowing what he should do. His older nature was coming back, that urge to be away. He fought it since he had a child in his hands and walked into Cara's shop, Jazz baby babbled as he carried her along....
The bell on the door rang and he sighed and then looked around. He was wearing a plain black beater, blue jeans and black boots. He had a bandana around his head. He had just gotten back to the apartment from his job, sent Amy back to her place after watching Jazz. Max was a carpenter and always would be, his powers made it easier for him, but he never let anybody catch on... and boy are some of carpenters stupid. He set Jazzyln's carrier down and unstrapped her. She stood up and smiled and then waddled her way to find Granny. Max cleared his throat and then said, "Ma? Where are you?" He walked forward some, his boots making a clear sound on the wood floor. "Jazzie is coming to find you..." he said half smiling....

Cara had been cleaning the kitchen in the back of the shop when she heard the door open. Throwing the rag she had been carrying over her shoulder, she walked out into the main shop with a big smile on her face at the sound of her son't voice. She grabbed her grandaughter up of the floor and practically smothered the giggling child in kisses. "Oh my grandbaby!" she squeaked, hugging the little girl as her eyes traveled to her son. "Come back into the kitchen sweatheart, I have a pot of tea boiling..." She kissed her son on the cheek before leading him back into the kitchen with Jazz on her hip.

Max felt instantly at home when his mother came around the corner. He let her take Jazz and then he follwed her into the back. He sat down heavily on the seat by the small table she had set up. He had a huge frown on his face and he gulped. He didn't look at his mother, but down at the table. He put his forehead in his hands. So many things were going wrong in his life at the moment. Leon was a vampire now... Ali left him... he wasn't happy with himself. He was losing it. By the time he looked up at his mother, his eyes were full of tears....

Cara put Jazz down in the kitchen and got a cup of tea for her son. She saw the tears in his eyes and her heart nearly broke. She knew what had happened of course. After all, she was Cara. "Oh sweetie..." she said, putting the tea on the table for him. She walked over and just gave him a hug.

Max just let her hug him. then he threw his arms around her and hugged her back. Tears came down his face more and he whimpered alittle bit. He hated to cry, and he hardly did, but everything was building up and he had no one to talk to. "I wouldn't put this on you right now mom... but Leon... I can't talk with him at the moment... and he'd probly make fun of me anyway." He said sighing.
