It was after noon and a golden glow lit the late summer sky, flooding through the windows and into the Ballroom. Guests were arriving and filling the large room. Food and snacks were laid out and family members and close friends were hanging around, joking and laughing, well, most of them.
Children ran around with Elle's dog, Francis, who was also chasing Lady Sophia, Clarice's pompous cat. Edward had been taking care of Francis as Elle had gone away for a few days with the excuse that she had some business to do. Ed didn't mind though. Francis was an enjoyable creature.
Ed was sitting at a table and laughing with his old friend, Bryant. They were waiting for the kids to arrive. Edward was looking forward to showing of his grandchildren, despite the fact that one of them still hadn't been born just yet.
Mace was standing by the door, chatting with his cousin's husband. He had a beer in hand and was doing his best to be nice to the jack ass as Cara had warned him a number of times beforehand to behave himself.
Cara was weaving her way around everyone, chatting with different people and being her usual, happy and social self. She too was waiting for Max to arrive so that she could show off her grandbabies, or granddaughter, depending on if he brought both the kids or not.

Leon slipped quetly into the hall. He was out of his apartment, but he still wasn't his usual self. He still refused to go near his son. He wouldn't be able to bare it if he hurt him. He had invited Kristin to join them at the reunion and was hoping she would show up. He was dressed in a pair of jeans and black runners with a black shirt. He was trying not to stick out and avoiding everyone's eyes. For the moment, his own eyes were their normal, deep hazel, but he was worried they would be able to tell if he looked right at them. He had hunted earlier on in the day and was quite full actually. He refused to hunt humans though, he couldn't do it. Instead, he had been hunting animals. He made his way to a mostly uninhabited corner and stood in front of the large window, crossing his arms and looking out at the golden sun, a thoughtful look on his face. He was alone in a crowded room.

Clarice was sitting at a table, doing her usual scrutinizing of everyone and everything. Despite the fact that it was a casual event, she was wearing an old fashioned dress and a hat to go with it. It was a black and white ensamble and she wore matching black shoes. Her hair was done up and she looked exactly as she acted, like a pompous, rich lady. There were a few things she was unaware of that she was about to find out. For one, her nephew was now going to be a grandfather, not to just Vincent, but Viv's child as well. Secondly, Her great nephew was now a vampire. Third, her other great nephew was now unwed. And fourth, Elle...
Vivienne Aracely came into the hall with her husband Vincent. They were not expected, but they were there anyway. Nobody had seen or heard from them in a few years and had probably expected them not to come back from their trip around the world. They had missed many things, but after Lynda's death, they just had to leave for a while and find themselves.
Vivienne was wearing a striped navy blue and white sweater with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of light, old lady jeans with a pair of white sneakers. There wasn't much she could do with her short, curly white/gray hair. She wore a big pair of glasses that made her eyes look larger. She was quite an old lady and you just had to love her.
Vincent Aracely came in shortly after his wife. He was wearing a pair of light shorts and a blue and green, button up hawaii type shirt with brown sandals. He has thinning, dark gray hair and a large bald spot on the top of his head as well as a mustach. He may have been old, but he was certainly strong, after all, his grandson had to take after someone. It had been years since they had seen the family and they had missed a lot. Like the fact that they were now great grandparents and that their granddaughter had gotten married. They had no idea. "Eddie!" Vince said as he walked up to his son in-law.

Elle had only just come home in time for the reunion party. She had a bit of a... surprise. A big one. She came in through the doors wearing a yellow, orange, pink and white sundress with a matching sun hat and white sandals. Trailing behind her was a little, African American boy of about four or five years old.
That's where she had been these past few days. She had been speaking with a friend in New York who had told her that she knew a little boy who was really in need of a home. He was special like them and was being bounced from foster home to foster home. So, being the person that Elle is... she adopted him.
The little boy was a bit shy, at first at least. He was wearing a pair of jean shorts, a basketball jersey and black basketball shoes. He was adorable too. He held onto Elle's hand, having already bonded with her. It was hard not to, after all... she was Elle. He looked around at all the people and waved at someone randomly.

Vivienne Shaymen was getting her nephew, Vincent, ready to head down to the reunion. She was already dressed and ready to go and was now just waiting for Louis. She was in the baby's room, dressing Vince in a pair of jeans, a dark green shirt and a little pair of black, hi-topped chucks.
She was wearing a pair of black capri tights and a long, teal maternity blouse. Her hair was down and curly and she really pulled the look off. She lifted Vince from the changing table and let him stand on his own, holding his hand and walking down the hall. He walked somewhat unsteadily beside her, using her to keep his balance. As they walked into the living room, Viv let go of his hand and let him walk around a bit as they waited for Lou.
"You ready to go Lou?" she called to him, rubbing her back and grabbing Vince's diaper bag. Vince was in the living room and using the coffee table for support. Viv heard a thump as something fell and the cutest damned "Uh-oh" you would ever hear. She looked over to see that Vince had knocked over the thingy that she had there as decoration. She sighed and went over to him, picking it up and placing it right back where it was.
Not only had Vince started to walk, but he was talking a bit now too. His favorite word was "uh-oh", but he could also say "da-da", "Vivi", "LuLu" and "Skank". When he said "skank" though, it was more like "kank." That's what he liked to call Andy. "Da-da" was his first word though. It broke Viv's heart to know that Leon was missing all of this. She swore that she wouldn't miss any part of her own baby's life and that she would kick Lou in the balls if he missed any part of their son's life.
At least Viv had gotten it all on video tape. Mostly Andy followed people around with the camera, so Viv made him make home videos of Vince. Viv stood up to see that Vince had run into the other room, searching for Louis. "LU-LU!" he said loudly in that adorable little boy's voice. "UH-OH!" He fell onto his butt then and started to pout a bit.

Maximus made his way down the hallway, with only one child in hand. He thought it was too big of a hassle to ask Aly if he could borrow his son for the day.. that's what it seemed like to him. So, wlaking by his side, Jazzlyn was wearing a red dress that puffed out at the bottom with frills. She had shiny black dress shoes on and her hair was down, her black curls bounced as she walked. Max was dressed in a red dress shirt with the arm rolled up to his elbows, black jeans and nice blacj shoes. He wanted to look good. His hazel eyes searched the crowd, most of the faces he didn't recognize because he hadn't seen any of these faces since his aunt died, and he was really young. Jazz was gazing wide-eyed, her blue eyes bright as she stared. Max picked her up when he found his mother and he walked over her and kissed her cheek. "Hey ma..." He said and then let Jazz kiss her...
Amy was at the front of the long hallway, waiting for Caleb. She invited him to come and hoped he would, she really wanted him to meet her family. She was dressed in a strappy tan halter with white shorts and strappy summer sandals. Her hair was straightened for once and she had on a silver necklace and earrings. Her hazel eyes traveled the other hallway that he would be coming down. She bit her lip slightly....

Louis was in the bedroom, he was running alittle late... like usual. He slipped on his dark blue polo and his brown shorts with a pair of black puma's. He fixed his hair up and then made his way out to the living room. "Yeah sorry babe." He said sighing. His golden eyes sparked out as he heard Vince say uh-oh, his eyes flashed to the decoration on the floor and he sighed with relief. He was glad it wasn't something dangerous or breakable. He looked at Viv and then took the diaper bag from her and gave her a look. "No more carrying." He said and poked her nose with his finger. "Come'on Vince.." He said looking down at the little guy....

Viv sighed and let him take the bag. "I'm pregnant, not crippled," she said as Vince ran over to Lou. He ran into Lou's legs, falling on his butt again by his feet. "Uh-oh," he said, looking up at Lou, his eyes wide and mouth in the shape of an O. Viv smiled at Vince and shook her head. "Lets go then," she said, kissing him on the cheek.

Kristin came walking down the hall, seeing Leon staring out a large window she smiled and walked up to him. She wrapped her arms around him from behind his back and she stood on her tippy toes and reached around to kiss his cheek, resting her chin on his shoulder. She was dressed in a orange shirt and jeans with white heels. She had a orange necklace on and white bracelets, and her hair was up with a clip. "You ok?" she asked sweetly. She had agreeded to come with him to the family reunion, she wanted to meet this family anyway...

Leon sighed heavily and turned around so that he could look at Kristin an wrapped his arms around her, practically liftng her up off the ground as he hugged her. "Yeah," he said, putting her down and kissing her cheek. "Now that you're here." He took her hand and smiled somewhat at her. He was happy she had come.

Kristin smiled wide as he hugged her back. She gave him a sweet smile and then let him take her hand, she swung there conjoined hands lightly as she pulled him toward the ballroom. "It'll be fine. I promise." She said with a smile. She loved Leon no matter what he was, and she would be by his side whenever he needed her.....

"Pops!" Eddie said, smiling wide as he saw his father in-law. "Where the hell have you been?" He got up and shook his hand firmly pulling him into a quick man hug, patting his back. "It's good to see you. Dear god, its been a long time. I thought the two of you had dropped off the face of the earth!" He smiled wide and turned to his mother in-law. "Ma," he said, giving her a hug, happy to see the parents of his long gone wife.
Cara turned to Max as he came up to her and gave him a big kiss. "Hi Maxi," she said, smiling and wiping her lipstick from his cheek. She squeaked and gave Jazz a load of kisses too and a big hug. "Your daddy's over there baby. Talking to Richard..."

Caleb was running a little late. He was wearing a green shirt and blue jean shorts with a pair of black runners. His hair was tousled and spiky as usual and he had on a black watch which he kept checking every five seconds. He jogged out into the hall and closed his door quickly before jogging down the hall to meet Amy. "Hey!" he said, jogging up to her and smiling. "We ready?"

Viv smiled and took Vincent's hand so that he didn't tumble down the steps or anything. She didn't know how she would ever explain that one to her brother. They made it to the part and Viv looked around for her father or Elle or someone. She cocked a brow seeing Elle. "Uhh.. Since when does Elle have a little black boy?" she asked, looking at Lou. "What did I miss when I was on bed rest?" She looked around vaguely recognizing faces, but really not sure of who was who in most cases. She spotted Clarice and smiled. "Hey, I dare you to go over there and try to be nice to Aunt Clarice..." She looked at Lou and cocked a brow, smiling.
