Vivienne Valora was alone. Her car was parked out on the street, which was a little ways down as a cobblestone pathway led up to the old graveyard. You couldn't see the graveyard from the street, nor could you see the street from the graveyard.
It was growing dark and there was a slight, cool breeze in the early spring air. Stars dotted the darkening sky as Viv stood before the old gate that opened up into the graveyard. It had been quite a few years since she had been there.
Her mother was burried within this very cemetary and Viv hadn't visited her grave since, well, the day of the funeral. She hated graveyards and she had no idea what had driven her to visit her mother's grave now, after all these years. and it was getting dark, the worst time to be within a graveyard.
It didn't matter though. She wouldn't go in. Couldn't bring herself to even crack open the creaking gate that separated her from the gravestone with her mothers name etched into the cold stone.
Perhaps it was the fact that she was pregnant that drove her to stand outside the graveyard. She couldn't help but feel somewhat down hearted and cheated. Her mother had been taken from her at a young age, unnaturally and rather cruelly. She had always wanted her mother there... at the most important times in her life, like her wedding...
She couldn't help but feel somewhat scared. Not because she was standing outside an old and ancient graveyard alone... No, it was because she was afraid of failure. She was afraid of messing this up. She was scared to death that she was going to be a horrible mother.
She was around two months along by then. With only a small bump on her stomach, Viv wore a nice looking, white blouse and a pair of dark jeans and black runners. Her curly hair fell about her shoulders and her hazel eyes were dark and deep in thought as they took in the garden of tombs before her through the gate which was cool to the touch as she wrapped her fingers around the bars.
It all just seemed so unfair to her. If it had not been for her, Lynda Valora might still have been alive. But in her own eyes, Vivienne had been a young and foolish child and therefore blamed herself for the death of her mother and not the person who was, in fact, responsible. Eryk.
It was in that moment, as she watched the soft light from the moon reflect off the cool stones within the cemetary, that Vivienne Valora vowed her child would never have to go through life without one of his or her parents or at the very least, someone to love and take care of them.
With a deep sigh, Viv closed her eyes and rest her head against the cool gate, holding herself there for a few moments. She would have to head back soon. Louis would start to wonder what was taking her so long and she was growing tired. She took that moment however to breath and calm herself and her senses, taking in the scent of the cool night air...
